biosensors and sensors for use within the water industry and environmental
monitoring.

Professor Higson serves in an advisory and/or consultative capacity for a
number of public and professional bodies, has acted as an expert witness for a number of high profile intellectual property and patent legal cases in the US

company formed in 1999 upon science and patents originating from his group
and for which he still serves as a director.

A chartered Scientist and Engineer, Professor Higson is a Fellow of the
Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and serves on the accreditation
board for the Engineering Council. Professor Higson is author of in excess of 130 research papers along with a
number of textbooks including the flagship Oxford text, 'Analytical Chemistry':
(ISBN: 0 19-8502893).
